  6. This level was created with DFUSE by Yves Borckmans, and with 
  7. 3DOSHOW and FMEDRAW by Carlos Gomez (CarGoCo).  The 3DO was 
  8. created by Gary Belisle (Keemosabi).  The FME's were created 
  9. by Mike Densmore.

  20. This zipfile consists of 3 files -

  22. ESCAPE.GOB  
  23. ESCAPE.BAT  
  24. ESCAPE.TXT

  26. Unzip < ESCAPE.ZIP > and copy the files to your Dark Forces directory 
  27. < C:\DARK >.  Then switch to that directory and type < ESCAPE >.

  29. Although the name of the mission will be < Escape From Hoth >,
  30. the Mission Briefing Screen will still have the orginal
  31. < Robotics  Construction Facility > briefing.

  34. BRIEFING:  
  35.  
  36. The Rebel base on the planet Hoth has been attacked by Imperial 
  37. Forces. All Rebel forces have been evacuated......with the exception 
  38. of Marcus Alliance (code name: Oury), High Commander of the 
  39. Corellian Sector, who stayed behind to ensure that everyone else 
  40. escaped safely.
  41.  
  42. Oury is hiding somewhere on Hoth, probably in one of the many ice 
  43. canyons or caves that surround the base.  Your mission is to find 
  44. and rescue the High Commander before Imperial  forces do.  Our 
  45. intelligence sources report that the initial Snowtrooper invasion 
  46. force has been relieved by Stormtrooper regulars.  However, we 
  47. have unconfirmed reports of, what were described as, 
  48. "Super Stormtroopers" - possibly referring to Dark Troopers. 
  49. Probe Droids are also known to accompany Imperial invasion forces 
  50. in large numbers, so be prepared.
  51.  
  52. Excercise extreme caution while in the caves of Hoth as many of 
  53. them remain unexplored. We don't know what hazards may exist.
  54.  
  55. We cannot emphasize strongly enough, the importance of this 
  56. mission. Marcus Alliance is one of our most valuable Officers, 
  57. and has knowledge of all Rebel operations and covert operatives 
  58. in the Corellian sector. His capture by Imperial forces would be 
  59. devastating to the rebellion. It is imperative that he be brought 
  60. back safely. THIS MISSION MUST NOT FAIL.

  62. The evacuating Rebels left several weapons caches in the canyons 
  63. and caves near the base as resupply points for anyone attempting 
  64. a rescue. Use these wisely, as they will be your only backup on 
  65. this mission. May The Force Be With You..........You'll need it!

  68. The only mission goals are to rescue Marcus Alliance (who bears a 
  69. remarkable resemblance to Crix Madine.......hmmm),  and kill 
  70. everything that moves - if you can.
  71.  
  72. There are two difficulty settings - HARD, and VERY HARD. The easy 
  73. and medium game settings will be HARD, and the hard game setting 
  74. will be VERY HARD.
  75.  
  76. There are several secret areas.  You don't need to find any of 
  77. them to finish the mission, but they're loaded with supplies.
